Katy Cannon Pearce has over 15 years experience in strategic planning and development work. She has worked with 50 + clients to create and execute tailored fundraising plans. She is highly skilled in building organizational leadership teams and has served as outside c-suite counsel for many organizations.
Katy has a background in diversity, equity and community initiatives and is committed to recruiting and empowering the next generation of leaders. Katy is known for the personal attention and passion she brings to each project.
Katy started the Cannon Group, a political fundraising firm, in 2011. The Cannon Group is a sister company to Cannon | Pearce.
Katy graduated from the University of Virgina with a bachelor's degree in Foreign Affairs and Political Science. She started her first company at age 22.
Matt Pearce is a seasoned leader in government affairs and advocacy. With a wealth of experience and a proven track record, Matt brings a unique perspective to the field.
Matt currently leads government affairs and advocacy efforts at Cannon | Pearce, showcasing his expertise in navigating the intricacies of policy and influencing key decisions. Before joining Cannon | Pearce, he served as a Senior Vice President at Venn Strategies, working with a variety of clients on issues relating to defense, small business, transportation, energy, agriculture, financial services, appropriations, water and federal tax policy. In addition to his policy work, Matt has a wealth of experience in coalition and association building and management, and a background working with employee-owned (ESOP) companies across multiple industries.
Before joining Venn, Matt spent two years at the U.S. Green Building Council, leading grassroots advocacy initiatives for the organization's 50-plus chapters. Before that, Matt served as a Legislative Assistant to House Ways and Means Committee Member Earl Pomeroy (D-ND) where handled a policy portfolio tax, appropriations, and energy issues. This early experiences laid the foundation for a career dedicated to making an impact through legislative and policy engagement.
Matt has also worked on several campaign cycles for state and federal officials. He ran the North Dakota Dem-NPL coordinated campaign in 2008 and 2010, and served as Campaign Manager for Wisconsin State Senator Bob Wirch during the 2011 Wisconsin recall elections.
Matt holds both an M.B.A. and a bachelor's degree in Social behavioral Sciences from the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota. During his time at the university, Matt showcased his leadership skills as the quarterback for the football team.
Matt resides in Bethesda, MD with his wife Katy, and their two children.
